Spring has finally arrived and many of us are itching to get outside and work in the soil...cleaning, clearing and preparing our garden beds for the upcoming season. I love working in the garden, but I am not a gifted gardener. So I wanted to include some great sites I found on organic gardening. If you are not a gardener, take a peek, these just might inspire you to begin some garden designing of your own!
1. Gardening with The Helpful Gardener

What Does a Billion Really Mean?
1,000,000,000
Here is part of an interesting email I received recently. Boggles my mind even more when it is put into this kind of perspective!
The next time you hear a politician use the word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about whether you want the 'politicians' spending YOUR tax money.
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective inone of its releases.
A BILLION seconds ago it was 1959.
A BILLION minutes ago Jesus was alive.
A BILLION hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
A BILLION days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.
A BILLION dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.
INTERESTING, huh?
And here is the rest of it.

Top 5 Alkaline Diet Weight Loss Tips
Thanks to my new friend, Yulia at Great Home Remedies, I found another great website with information about alkalinizing your diet. Here are the top 5 tips they share if you are interested in moving more into this direction.
Tip #1 - Drink, Drink then Drink some more!
By far the most important and yet the easiest way to accelerate your alkaline diet weight loss results is to hydrate consistently.
Avoid Coffee, tea, soda and other acidic drinks.
Tip #2 - Avoid Foods with preservatives, food coloruing and additives.
The body wasn't designed to digest these chemical substances, so it must either: eliminate them, neutralize them or park them away where they can't damage your body.
Tip #3 - Avoid artificial sweetners like the plague
If you have been trying to lose weight, chances are you have relied on artificial sweetners to cut calories. You are shooting yourself in the foot on an alkaline diet. They are toxins as in tip #2
Tip #4 - Always have cut veggies and soaked nuts ready in your fridge
How successful do you think you would be in your alkaline weight loss program if you had to fight your craving along the way, every minute of every hour of every day? I bet not too successful.
Well, if you were on an alkaline diet, this would not be an issue because your craving would disappear by themselves over time. I get into that in much more detail in my e-book "Acid Alkaline Diet Simplified"
Optionally, pick up a couple of varieties of hummus to dip the veggies in for added taste.
Tip #5 - Make a huge salad every 3 days
Ever come home so hungry you're ready to eat the first thing that you can get your hands on? Do you regret binging on the junk food, and wish you could have made something better to eat?
If you prepare a huge salad that would last you 3 straight days, you will never come home and wonder what you can eat. With a salad in your fridge - ready to eat - you can eat right away and it's great for an alkaline diet.
Did you know your body can easily return to it's natural weight balance? Click here to find out how an alkaline diet can do this simply. http://acidalkalinediet.com/

If We Only Had 100 People On Earth
What if...
If we could shrink the earth's population to precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the following:
Read on what our world would look like!
THERE WOULD BE:
57 Asians, 21 Europeans, 8 Africans
14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south
52 would be female, 48 would be male
70 would be non-white, 30 would be white
70 would be non-Christian, 30 would be Christian
89 would be heterosexual, 11 would be homosexual
6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth and all 6 would be from the United States.
80 would live in substandard housing
70 would be unable to read
50 would suffer from malnutrition, 1 would be near death, 1 would be near birth
1 (yes, only 1) would have a college education, 1 would own a computer
When one considers our world from such a compressed perspective, the need for acceptance, understanding and education becomes glaringly apparent. The following is also something to ponder:
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness...you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation... you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.
If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death... you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep... you are richer than 75% of this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If your parents are still alive and still married... you are very rare, even in the United States and Canada.
If you can read this message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.
-Author Unknown
I'm not sure when this was written or how accuate it can be considered stastically, but it does give me some very important thoughts to ponder, especially when I am having what seems to be one of those god-awful days where I think everything is going wrong.
Just the other day I was having a fit 'cause I couldn't find my car keys and the delay was making me crazy about possibly being late for an appointment. Reading over this list helps put my very itsy bitsy problems into perspective. I should be glad for these little grains of sand snags that crop up, and be more helpful to those experiencing more difficult times.

5 Simple Feng Shui Tips
Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese science. Some use this science in conjunction with a more New Age approach which centers on obtaining a good flow of chi in your home or office. This has become a popular way of making our homes and other surroundings a positive place to spend our time and to live in harmony with our environment.
There are many interesting but complicated factors that are part of the Feng Shui way of living. There are also some good health ideas that are easier to incorporate into our lives and our homes.
Below are 5 simple tips that can be used to help maintain good health .
1. GET RID OF CLUTTER
Most clutter is negative. It disrupts the flow of chi, which is life energy. It is especially important to remove clutter from the center of your house. This area is considered the heart and/or center of the house. Other areas of the "bagua" (which is a Feng Shui map which divides your house into nine sections) are all touched by the center health area.
This means all areas of your house are affected by what is in your health area and visa versa. This principle then applies to your life, as in all areas of your life are affected by your health, and your health affects all parts of your life. Therefore, it is important to keep the center of your home clutter free to allow positive energy, "qi," to flow throughout your home.
Do not place any heavy objects in this area. Also, your home center is a good place for happy pictures of loved ones, harmonious bells or chimes, a fountain, or any items that mean something special to you.
2. USE THE SENSES TO YOUR ADVANTAGE IN YOUR HOME
Balance and harmony in your home will stabilize and energize you and your family. Use colors to create the appropriate mood. RED will keep you going--it's bright and full of energy--but do not use it in bedrooms if you want rest. ORANGE is refreshing and revitalizing. Use it in the kitchen or playrooms. Its softer shades can be used in family rooms where it promotes fun and relaxing. YELLOW is a happy color that promotes creativity and vitality. Use it in a kitchen or office. GREEN is a healing and calming color. It is great for living rooms or bedrooms. It renews and keeps us in balance. BLUE is also a healing color as well as a mentally relaxing color. Add blue to a room when someone is sick. Blue will keep the room's occupants calm. Indigo is not only relaxing but is also to keep good health in your home. PURPLE is the color of transformation. It is great for any spiritual room or to put here and there for wealth and abundance.
Use natural lighting when possible, and use dimmer switches to change the atmosphere from bright and energizing to low and calming as needed. Remember that touch is an important and often over-looked sense. Softness and warmth can be used to relax. Rough textures and coolness will energize.
Aromas are another way to vary or change the atmosphere or feeling of a room or a home. Essential oils, quality scented candles and fresh air all promote the change of energy in your home. Use lemon for a light, refreshing energy and lavender for a calming, relaxing energy in your home.
3. IMPROVE THE CENTER OF YOUR HOME
As stated earlier, the middle or heart of your house is associated with health. By adding live plants to this area, you will improve the energies for health and balance. Add yellow and earth tones to give your health chi a boost.
This can be accomplished by things like a pot of yellow mums on a table in the center of your home. Adding something that makes you laugh is another way to promote good health for you and your family. By adding square shapes and flat items to this area, you will allow energetic movement, which is an aid to good health. For example, square coffee table made of stone would be perfect for this area.
You can also add religious objects. Reminders of the higher powers in the universe, no matter the style or symbol, will be of benefit to health. What matters is the intention of the person who placed the symbol. If it has meaning, it is positive for you. A symbol made of stone is even better when placed in the center area of the house.
Remove any wooden furniture or objects from the center. In Feng Shui, wood "uproots" earth. Since health is associated with the element wood, keep these objects out of the center of your home. Also remove any column or tree-like shapes. Items shaped like tree trunks have an upward movement of energy and this is not helpful in your health sector. Examples of negative, column-shaped objects would be columns, tall curio cabinets and spiral staircases.
4. MAKE CHANGES OR ADDITIONS TO YOUR BEDROOM
The bedroom is you spend a great deal of your time, so it's an important room for your health. Reducing electromagnetic fields is one of the best things you can do for better health. Remove all electrical appliances from the bedroom if possible. If not, place them at least 8 feet from the bed. Things like electric blankets or waterbeds are the worst offenders, due to the proximity to your body.
Metal objects should also be removed from the bedroom since they conduct electricity. Don't sleep with your feet pointed out your bedroom door. This position is called the "pine box" or "coffin" position and should be avoided due to its negative connotation. Don't face a mirror while sleeping. If you can see in the mirror from your bed, this is like having another person-one who never sleeps-in the room with you.
Also, the water element of the mirror could cause ill health. Mirrors, if not easily moved, can be covered with material hung on a cord or rod. This would allow for use of the mirror when needed, but would keep it covered while you are sleeping. The bed should always be position against a solid wall. This is to symbolize support. If your bed is in front of a window, close the blinds or curtains to give that feeling of solid support.
5. PLACEMENT OF PARTICULAR OBJECTS
Place objects in certain areas of your home for good health and for energizing you and your family. The dragon is a good health symbol but do not place it in the bedroom. He has too much energy, and would make the bedroom restless rather than restive.
Potted plants or wind chimes around your home will disperse negative "chi," which is called "sha." The dragon-headed tortoise is a symbol of steadiness and longevity. If placed at the back of the house, he will symbolize support for you and your family.
Rabbits and tortoises are both symbols of improved health, luck and long life. They both should be placed in your health area. The type of material they are made of is important and depends on your "kua" number and your element. An example would be a kua number of three that means the element is wood. If your element is wood, you would place a wooden rabbit and a wooden tortoise in your health area. To find your kua number and element, search the internet or books on Feng Shui.
These five simple home Feng Shui tips for good health are just the beginning. If you are interested in Feng Shui, there are many helpful books on the subject. Some are specific to health, some give helpful charts and diagrams concerning the elements, kua numbers, etc. Others are filled with information on furniture arranging to achieve a perfect flow of "chi." Feng Shui is growing in popularity and may help you gain better health and happiness.

16 Quotes on Drugs By MD's

2. "Medicines are of subordinate importance because of their very nature they can only work symptomatically." Hans Kusche, M.D.
3. "If all the medicine in the world were thrown into the sea, it would be bad for the fish and good for humanity" O.W. Holmes, (Prof. of Med. Harvard University)
4. "Drug medications consists in employing, as remedies for disease, those things which produce disease in well persons. Its materia medica is simply a lot of drugs or chemicals or dye-stuffs in a word poisons. All are incompatible with vital matter; all produce disease when brought in contact in any manner with the living; all are poisons." R.T. TraIl, M.D., in a two and one half hour lecture to members of congress and the medical profession, delivered at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C.
5. "Every drug increases and complicates the patients condition." Robert Henderson, M.D.
6. "Drugs never cure disease. They merely hush the voice of nature's protest, and pull down the danger signals she erects along the pathway of transgression. Any poison taken into the system has to be reckoned with later on even though it palliates present symptoms. Pain may disappear, but the patient is left in a worse condition, though unconscious of it at the time." Daniel. H. Kress, M.D.
7. "The greatest part of all chronic disease is created by the suppression of acute disease by drug poisoning." Henry Lindlahr, M.D.

10. "The person who takes medicine must recover twice, once from the disease and once from the medicine." William Osler, M.D.
11. "Medical practice has neither philosophy nor common sense to recommend it. In sickness the body is already loaded with impurities. By taking drug medicines more impurities are added, thereby the case is further embarrassed and harder to cure." Elmer Lee, M.D., Past Vice President, Academy of Medicine.
12. "Our figures show approximately four and one half million hospital admissions annually due to the adverse reactions to drugs. Further, the average hospital patient has as much as thirty percent chance, depending how long he is in, of doubling his stay due to adverse drug reactions." Milton Silverman, M.D. (Professor of Pharmacology, University of California)
13. "Why would a patient swallow a poison because he is ill, or take that which would make a well man sick." L.F. Kebler, M.D.
14. "What hope is there for medical science to ever become a true science when the entire structure of medical knowledge is built around the idea that there is an entity called disease which can be expelled when the right drug is found?" John H. Tilden, M.D.
15. "The necessity of teaching mankind not to take drugs and medicines, is a duty incumbent upon all who know their uncertainty and injurious effects; and the time is not far distant when the drug system will be abandoned." Charles Armbruster, M. D.
16. "We are prone to thinking of drug abuse in terms of the male population and illicit drugs such as heroin, cocaine, and marijuana. It may surprise you to learn that a greater problem exists with millions of women dependent on legal prescription drugs." Robert Mendelsohn, M.D

What Is Your Favorite Home Remedy?
THE MODERN DAY HOME REMEDY KIT
We all have our favorites that we would not be caught without in regards to our home remedy kit. To think back, in my grandmother's day, home remedies were all there were!
One image I can still see very clearly is my Italian Grandmom in her dress and apron, going to the parks and open fields in Philadelphia, looking for dandelions and wild blackberries. The dandelions were used as a dinner veggie and to make wine, the blackberries to make pies. Of course this was way back in the day before pesticides became an issue. Imagine my surprise when I first saw dandelions sold in a food market, and they actually wanted money for those weeds! Truth be told, dandelions are still one of my favorite greens to eat.
So how about helping me out here and sharing one of your favorite home remedies to add to the list. Tell us about one of your favorites and how you have used it. I'll start and hope others will join in as well! This is tough to widdle it down to one...
COLD PRESSED CASTOR OIL
I always have several bottles of cold pressed castor oil on hand, for both myself and to share with others. I came across this about 15 years ago when I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and it is what helped me create a healing. It is great for any kind of inflammation. I apply it directly to the skin. I never take it internally. It is a great skin conditioner, and helps with muscle aches and pains. For more information on how to use it, see the article Castor Oil: A Wealth of Information
Be the next person to add your home remedy to the list

5 Herbs to Grow in Cooler Weather
If you start the plants indoors, make sure the plants' growth hasn't been hindered and that the transplants go into the ground when quite small, and take are not to disturb the roots during the planting process.
Most of the herbs can be sown outdoors six to eight weeks before the last frost.
Note: If you have poor soil, applying aged manure or granulated organic fertilizer to the soil during the seedling stage helps get plants off to a healthy start.
PARSLEY
Two different forms include the familiar curly parsley and the more flavorful flat-leaved Italian version, with leaves like celery and cilantro.
Sow: Direct-sow seeds or set out six- to eight-week-old transplants about a week before the last spring frost, spacing seeds or seedlings 8 to 10 inches apart.
Grow: Tolerates full sun or partial shade.
CILANTRO
The emerald leaves have a distinctive flavor that combines parsley, sage, and citrus and its seed (coriander), which is reminiscent of citrus and spice.
Sow: Direct-sow seeds a week or two before the last spring frost and again in late summer.
Grow: Best in full sun, with some afternoon shade in hotter regions.
CHERVIL
The leaves resemble parsley in appearance and taste, with delicate overtones of anise.
Sow: Sow seeds directly into the garden about three to four weeks before the last spring frost and again in late summer; thin seedlings to 6 to 9 inches apart.
Grow: Prefers part shade.
DILL
Dill combines well with fish, mild cheeses, and vegetable dishes.
Sow: Best sown directly into the ground four to five weeks before the last spring frost; thin seedlings to 6 to 18 inches apart.
Grow: This aromatic annual thrives in full sun.
CHIVES
Regular chives have a delicate onion flavor; garlic chives are milder.
Sow: Grow by seeds, transplants, or divisions, with plants spaced 8 to 12 inches apart. Sow seeds in clumps or set out six-week-old transplants about four weeks before the last spring frost; divide existing clumps every two to four years.
Grow: Likes full sun to part shade.

Your Body's Many Cries For Water
- 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
- In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
- Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.
- One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of dieters studied in a U-Washington study.
- Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
- Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
- A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
- Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.
- Increasing your intake of water during a case of the flu or common coldcan reduce the number of sick days by 2-3 days.
- Are you drinking enough water every day?
Remember, once you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated.

Vibrational Frequency List
In 1992, Bruce Tainio of Tainio Technology, an independent division of Eastern State University in Cheny, Washington, built the first frequency monitor in the world. Tainio has determined that the average frequency of the human body during the daytime is 62-68 Hz. A healthy body frequency is 62-72 Hz . When the frequency drops, the immune system is compromised. Check out these very interesting findings:
Human Body:
Genius Brain Frequency 80-82 MHz
Brain Frequency Range 72-90 MHz
Normal Brain Frequency 72 MHz
Human Body 62-78 MHz
Human Body: from Neck up 72-78 MHz
Human Body: from Neck down 60-68 MHz Thyroid and Parathyroid glands are 62-68 MHz
Thymus Gland is 65-68 MHz
Heart is 67-70 MHz
Lungs are 58-65 MHz
Liver is 55-60 MHz
Pancreas is 60-80 MHz
Colds and Flu start at: 57-60 MHz
Disease starts at: 58 MHz
Candida overgrowth starts at: 55 MHz
Receptive to Epstein Barr at: 52 MHz
Receptive to Cancer at: 42 MHz
Death begins at: 25 MHz
Foods
(fresh foods and herbs can be higher if grown organically and eaten freshly picked):
Fresh Foods 20-27 Hz
Fresh Herbs 20-27 Hz
Dried Foods 15-22 Hz
Dried Herbs 15-22 Hz
Processed/Canned Food 0 HZ...(the majority of food we eat)
According to Dr. Royal R. Rife, every disease has a frequency. He found that certain frequencies can prevent the development of disease and that others would destroy disease. Substances with higher frequency will destroy diseases of a lower frequency. The study of frequencies raises an important question, concerning the frequencies of substances we eat, breathe and absorb. Many pollutants lower healthy frequency. Processed/canned food has a frequency of zero. Fresh produce has up to 15 Hz, dried herbs from 12 to 22 Hz and fresh herbs from 20 to 27 Hz.
Essential oils start at 52 Hz and go as high as 320 Hz, which is the frequency of rose oil. Clinical research shows that therapeutic grade essential oils have the highest frequency of any natural substance known to man, creating an environment in which disease, bacteria, virus, fungus, etc., cannot live.
American inventor Nikola Tesla (1856 – 1943), a pioneer of electrical technology, said that if you could eliminate certain outside frequencies that interfered in our bodies, we would have greater resistance toward disease.
Every essential oil has a frequency and each of our organs and body parts have a frequency. The frequency of an oil will attract a like frequency in the body. Lower frequencies become a sponge for negative energy. The frequency is what stays in the body to maintain the longer lasting effects of the oil. Low frequencies make physical changes in the body. Middle frequencies make emotional changes in the body. High frequencies make spiritual changes in the body. Spiritual frequencies range from 92 to 360 Hz. (Bone frequency is 38-43; neck and down frequency is 62-68).
Dr. Robert O. Becker M.D, in his book, The Body Electric, who also explains that a person's health can be determined by the frequency of the person's body.
Another doctor and scientist, whose research has been buried for some time but has managed to resurface due to the work of avid supporters, is Dr Royal Raymond Rife M.D, who developed a frequency generator in the late 1920’s. In brief, Rife successfully treated 1,000 patients diagnosed with incurable cancer in the 1930’s. He was honoured with 14 awards and an honorary doctorate.
After the unsuccessful attempt by pharmaceutical companies to buy out his research and equipment, his office was ransacked, his research paperwork was stolen and the machine that healed all those 1,000 “incurable” cancer patients was destroyed.
In 1934, before this destruction occurred, the University of Southern California appointed a Special Medical Research Committee to bring terminal cancer patients from Pasadena County Hospital to Rife's San Diego Laboratory and clinic for treatment. The team included doctors and pathologists assigned to examine the patients - if still alive - in 90 days. After the 90 days of treatment, the Committee concluded that 86.5% of the patients had been completely cured. The treatment was then adjusted and the remaining 13.5% of the patients also responded within the next four weeks. The total recovery rate using Rife's technology was 100%. http://www.rife.org/
What Rife had developed was a 100% effective cure for many forms of cancer. So why do we not know about this and why are there so many cancer research foundations in existence? Put simply, it is due to the economic motives of the orthodox medical community, which relies on funding for cancer research - such funding often coming from pharmaceutical companies - and whose fortunes would be damaged if a cure for cancer was found. (That is, it’s OK to search for a cure but don’t really find one!) This is a story that illustrates yet another grand attempt by the mainstream medical community to control the lives - and deaths - of so many millions of people today.
“In every culture and in every medical tradition before ours, healing was accomplished by moving energy." - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, Nobel Laureate in Medicine (1937) What Rife proved is that every health disorder has a frequency, which in turn responds (resonates) to a specific (optimal) frequency for its dissolving/healing in the body.
People who maintain their optimal frequency, at least of their immune system, would prevent development of symptoms and illnesses associated with the common cold. Of course, in practise this does not work for most of us because, being human, we experience stress and emotional challenges on a daily basis, which lower our body frequency. Hence, we need to raise our body frequency regularly/daily with the right substances that are compatible at the cellular/energic level of our being, rather than wait until our body frequency has dropped so low that it becomes a friendly host for microscopic invaders.
How can we prove this?
According to a report (Epidemiology, May 2001; 11:345-349) psychological stress - particularly the chronic type that may accompany a personality with a negative outlook - is a risk factor for contracting colds. An optimistic outlook and outgoing personality seemed to protect individuals, investigators found. The findings indicate that high levels of psychological stress are closely associated with contracting the common cold. While the common cold is rarely a serious health hazard, it is responsible for about 30 million days of lost work in the U.S. alone each year. To investigate whether stress increased the likelihood of developing a cold, the researchers surveyed more than 1,100 Spanish university staff and students at regular intervals over a one year period. The study focused on different types of stress, including stress from life events, perceived stress, having a generally negative outlook, anxious or compulsive personality, compared with having a positive outlook/attitude to life.
Individuals with a negative outlook were at greatest risk of developing colds - regardless of their intake of vitamin C and zinc or their smoking and drinking habits. The next highest-risk individuals were those who believed that they were under stress. These people were nearly three times as likely to develop a cold, according to the report.
Why Should I Avoid An Antibiotic?
Colds can be contracted as the result of contact with more than 200 different viruses. However, among all of the cold viruses, the rhinovirus and the coronavirus cause the majority of colds. Each time you have a cold, it is caused by a distinct virus (e.g. adenovirus, rhinovirus, parainfluenza virus, and coronavirus). Viruses are much smaller than bacteria. They are tiny clusters of genetic material surrounded by a protein ‘wrapper’. Medical science currently does not have any drugs that can kill these viruses. Antibiotics, including penicillin, do not have any effect on viruses. They are only used to treat secondary bacterial infections that can further complicate the effects of a cold.
How Do We Actually Contract the Cold?
The most common source of infection is not from coughing or sneezing, or walking barefoot in the rain, but from hand-to-hand contact. That is why, when you have a cold, washing your hands frequently is very important. The likelihood of contracting the cold virus increases, however, if one is overtired and physically exhausted. Most uncomplicated colds last eight to nine days; about 25% last two weeks; and 5 -10% last three weeks. As long as one’s temperature remains below 38.8 degrees Celsius, there is no need to lower it. Cold viruses do not reproduce at higher body temperatures. In fact, a slight fever should help us get rid of the virus quicker and feel better much sooner. It is our body’s own way of ridding itself of toxins. Why are Aspirin and Tylenol counterproductive?A study (J Infect Dis, Dec 1990; 162(6):1277-82) showed that people who take aspirin and Tylenol (acetaminophen) suppress their body's ability to produce antibodies that destroy the cold virus. This actually causes the body to take longer to fight the cold and it accounts for any secondary infections and post-nasal drip.
What Can We Do to Avoid Common Cold?
While orthodox medicine does not have the answer for colds and ‘flu, nature does - and it comes in the form of pure organic unadulterated Therapeutic Essential Oils. Why? Because they are made up of very high frequency molecules (ranging from 52MHz to 320MHz) and contain nature’s wisdom and power to raise the body’s frequency and to assist our immune system to fight viral invasions. For greater clarity, organic Therapeutic Essential Oils are not the same as everyday aromatherapy oils, which are produced for fragrant and other purposes.

Earth Day Every Day
Every year since 1970, we have celebrated Earth Day on April 22. In the wake of the groundbreaking documentary An Inconvenient Truth (released May 2006), we have reached a heightened awareness of the health of our earth. Now, more than ever, we are adopting earth-friendly habits into our lives. Let’s celebrate our commitment to this place we call home. Below are some of our favorite everyday tips for celebrating Earth Day.
Shop Organic!
Support farmers and grocers who work to keep pesticides out of the ground and our bodies—organic food is not just good to eat, but good for our planet.
Use Cloth Shopping Bags
Cut down on the amount of paper and plastic you bring home. Grocers often provide small discounts for bringing your own bag or for recycling bags from prior visits.
Cook at Home
Cook at home and box your own food in reusable containers. You will save lunch money at work or school as well as minimize the use of takeout containers. Cooking at home has more benefits, as well.
Join a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Group
Support local farmers and get a bounty of produce grown right in your own community!
Plant a Garden
There is nothing like the satisfaction of growing your own food! Even if you don’t have space for a garden, you can easily plant herbs, tomatoes, and peppers in their own containers and have a mini salsa garden! Organic Salsa Recipe >>
Compost
Composting provides excellent nutrients for your garden and will cut down on landfill-space issues. Creating a compost pile is as easy as combining kitchen scraps such as fruit and vegetable peelings with leaves and dried grasses. Turn often and keep as damp as a wrung-out sponge. Check out Organic Gardening for more information.
Recycle
Recycle glass, plastic, and paper. Contact your local landfill or recycling program for guidelines in your area.
Bike, Walk, or Carpool
Try cutting down on your car trips. Biking and walking are great exercise… and with gas prices higher than we’d like, you will save money, as well.
Hang Your Clothes Out to Dry
This might sound old-fashioned, but you will find it doesn’t take much more time. You will appreciate being outdoors now that the weather is warming—and enjoy your fresh smelling laundry to boot!
Be Conservative in Your Chores
Make sure the dishwasher and clothes washer are full before running them. And, only wash what is truly dirty!
Turn Off the Water
We often stand while brushing our teeth with the faucet running or let the hose run while we are gardening. Take notice of the time you use water and conserve when possible. Bonus tip: If you find you are always dumping half-full glasses of water down the drain, water your plants with it instead!
Xeriscaping
Look into creating a water-conscious landscape, which will allow you to reduce water use. Many native plants also require very little maintenance, do not use a lot of water, and are well adapted to your area. Again, reducing use of and eliminating unnecessary resources saves us time and money.
Plant a Tree!
Okay, we couldn’t resist this classic Earth Day suggestion. Trees remove carbon dioxide from the air, often while shading hotter areas of the house, allowing you to turn your air conditioner down this summer (more earth-friendly points for you)!
