Who Is the Worst Corporate Abuser of 2010?

Do you know who will be the next winner of the Corporate Hall of Shame award? Corporate Accountability International, is an organization which has been waging winning campaigns to challenge corporate abuse for more than 30 years.

They are asking for our help. It is a simple task- make your voice heard by voting for the corporation you believe has acted the most irresponsibly. Then, pass the information along to family and friends, and ask them to vote as well. If you have a blog, post the information there. Adding the link to your Facebook page or other social network sites you belong to will also bring more people to the campaign.

Go Right to The Voting Booth...but please read on...

Last year more than 10,000 votes were cast. Big Oil polluter Exxon Mobil took the prize for stalling crucial action on climate change, and making record oil profits while externalizing its environmental costs.

"Over the years, the Hall of Shame has not only cast a light on a range of corporate abuse, it has moved corporations to cut political contributions and adopt new codes of conduct." Together, we can work to make a difference.

So by now you must be really curious as to who was nominated for this year's award? Ok, now--drum roll please---up for this year's dishonorable award are the following:

2010's Nominees for the Corporate Hall of Shame

1. bp

2. Monsanto

3. Nestle

4. Mc Donald's

5. Goldman Sachs

6. Pfizer

7. Chase

8. Chevron

9. Or Your Write In

They are definitely all worthy of induction into the Hall of Shame, but my personal favorite villain and who I voted for was Monsanto. Through the years they have acted so negligently. Monsanto’s abuses are legendary. They have been involved in destroying our food system, ranging from spreading toxic pesticides to bankrupting small farmers to fighting against labeling restrictions for genetically engineered foods. So how is all this possible? Why Monsanto, with their far reaching hands and deep pockets exploits the system by creating a revolving door between its senior leadership and the federal agencies responsible for regulating its products.

I am sure you have your own favorite among the candidates on this list.
So please take the time to cast your vote.

Our single voice alone often gets lost in the background, but collectively it sends a loud unsettling frequency through the air that can have the effect we wish to accomplish on those who hold the reins of the power to change. We must always remember- we have the power to make a difference.

Here is the link to Corporate Accountability International that will get you into the voting booth.

7 Steps to Wean You Off Processed Foods

Real Food Has Curves, a new book written by Bruce Weinstein and Mark Scarbrough, offers a 7-step plan for weaning yourself off processed foods:

1. Seek true satisfaction.
Enjoy genuine flavors, rather than fat, sugar, and salt added to mask the metallic taste of chemical additives.

2. Read labels wisely.
You can find food with "real" ingredients in the supermarket if you read labels carefully.

3. Relish what's on your plate.
Devote time solely to enjoying the pleasures of eating.

4. Wean yourself off excess salt, fat, and sugar.
You can also cook with smaller amounts of these ingredients by using natural substitutes like strong spices.

5. Give your palate time to change.
You'll gradually lose your taste for excessively sweet and salty foods.

6. Go for high-quality foods.
Look for products that contain the least amount of processed ingredients.

7. Treat yourself well by not skipping meals.
Try eating three meals a day at fairly regular times, plus a mid-afternoon snack. . And here is the rest of it.

The Master Numbers

One of the phenomena occurring at this time is to pay attention that we are living with Spirit, and one way our guides and teachers help us is by making us become aware of the energies and the meaning of numbers...such as in the appearance of 3 or more of the same digits.

111
Energy flow - enhancing whatever level you are in presently

222
Resurrection and ascension process. Twenty-two (22) is the master number that reflects POWER ON ALL PLANES AND THE ABILITY TO CHANGE THE COURSE OF HISTORY

333
Decision number - Either directs you into a phase of 999 completion, or negatively, it puts you in the 666 frequency which throws you back into the third dimension, watch what you are doing VERY carefully

In the crystal book by Melody "Love Is In The Earth", this is what it says for the 333 Master number. Power over the total physical realm is revealed and the application of same is facilitated. Understanding of the "right time" is expedited and the act of non-action is furthered; patience is a keyword. The concept of ease in actualization and the understanding of the abstraction of manifestation is reflected on the 333 vibration.

444
Presence of Angels and ability for Angelic communication or you have completed an important phase and it is the number of resurrection

555
Experiencing the energy or level of CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS

666
Material world, third dimensional frequency, density, pay attention to everything around you and ask if making this decision in this way will hold me back from my spiritual growth in some way?

777
Symbolizes an integration of some portion of the four lower bodies with higher spiritual frequencies within the Third-dimensional plane, or at the level in which you are manifesting your physical reality on the Earth Plane.

888
Symbolizes infinity. The unified spiral of the physical merging with the spiritual. Moving toward the completion of the ascension process through the energies of 222 and 444.

999
Symbolizes the three levels of the triune, completion.

000
The great void, experiencing a null zone. Switching or moving into a new energy field.

11:11
Beginning of a whole new level or phase of development. Another dimension or frequency of experience opening. A way or path opening for you. Stargate 11:11

12:12
Cosmic Connection, a bridge to the future, signifies a levelof completion or graduation

Just yesterday my youngest daughter who is in 9th grade mentioned that every day she notices the 11:11 on the clock, and since she is a night owl, most days, she says she notices it twice. I find this amazing. She indicated she is not a clock watcher but somehow always manages to see that particular time on a daily basis. I have to admit, I was a bit jealous, because I never notice the numbers, then again, I rarely ever look at a clock. So, does that have some signifiance?

I do realize that numbers surround us, and I rarely pick up on the signals that come in this manner, although I have been in the car with this particular daughter and she will say, "hey mom look, that license plate has a 333 on it."

Beauty Tips

Audrey Hepburn wrote this when she was asked to share her "beauty tips." It was read at her funeral years later.

For Attractive Lips:
Speak words of kindness.

For Lovely Eyes:
Seek out the good in people.

For a Slim Figure:
Share your food with the hungry.

For Beautiful Hair:
Let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.

For Poise:
Walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.

5 Simple Feng Shui Tips

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese science. Some use this science in conjunction with a more New Age approach which centers on obtaining a good flow of chi in your home or office. This has become a popular way of making our homes and other surroundings a positive place to spend our time and to live in harmony with our environment.

There are many interesting but complicated factors that are part of the Feng Shui way of living. There are also some good health ideas that are easier to incorporate into our lives and our homes.

Below are 5 simple tips that can be used to help maintain good health .

1. GET RID OF CLUTTER
Most clutter is negative. It disrupts the flow of chi, which is life energy. It is especially important to remove clutter from the center of your house. This area is considered the heart and/or center of the house. Other areas of the "bagua" (which is a Feng Shui map which divides your house into nine sections) are all touched by the center health area.

This means all areas of your house are affected by what is in your health area and visa versa. This principle then applies to your life, as in all areas of your life are affected by your health, and your health affects all parts of your life. Therefore, it is important to keep the center of your home clutter free to allow positive energy, "qi," to flow throughout your home.

Do not place any heavy objects in this area. Also, your home center is a good place for happy pictures of loved ones, harmonious bells or chimes, a fountain, or any items that mean something special to you.

2. USE THE SENSES TO YOUR ADVANTAGE IN YOUR HOME
Balance and harmony in your home will stabilize and energize you and your family. Use colors to create the appropriate mood. RED will keep you going--it's bright and full of energy--but do not use it in bedrooms if you want rest. ORANGE is refreshing and revitalizing. Use it in the kitchen or playrooms. Its softer shades can be used in family rooms where it promotes fun and relaxing. YELLOW is a happy color that promotes creativity and vitality. Use it in a kitchen or office. GREEN is a healing and calming color. It is great for living rooms or bedrooms. It renews and keeps us in balance. BLUE is also a healing color as well as a mentally relaxing color. Add blue to a room when someone is sick. Blue will keep the room's occupants calm. Indigo is not only relaxing but is also to keep good health in your home. PURPLE is the color of transformation. It is great for any spiritual room or to put here and there for wealth and abundance.

Use natural lighting when possible, and use dimmer switches to change the atmosphere from bright and energizing to low and calming as needed. Remember that touch is an important and often over-looked sense. Softness and warmth can be used to relax. Rough textures and coolness will energize.

Aromas are another way to vary or change the atmosphere or feeling of a room or a home. Essential oils, quality scented candles and fresh air all promote the change of energy in your home. Use lemon for a light, refreshing energy and lavender for a calming, relaxing energy in your home.

3. IMPROVE THE CENTER OF YOUR HOME
As stated earlier, the middle or heart of your house is associated with health. By adding live plants to this area, you will improve the energies for health and balance. Add yellow and earth tones to give your health chi a boost.

This can be accomplished by things like a pot of yellow mums on a table in the center of your home. Adding something that makes you laugh is another way to promote good health for you and your family. By adding square shapes and flat items to this area, you will allow energetic movement, which is an aid to good health. For example, square coffee table made of stone would be perfect for this area.

You can also add religious objects. Reminders of the higher powers in the universe, no matter the style or symbol, will be of benefit to health. What matters is the intention of the person who placed the symbol. If it has meaning, it is positive for you. A symbol made of stone is even better when placed in the center area of the house.

Remove any wooden furniture or objects from the center. In Feng Shui, wood "uproots" earth. Since health is associated with the element wood, keep these objects out of the center of your home. Also remove any column or tree-like shapes. Items shaped like tree trunks have an upward movement of energy and this is not helpful in your health sector. Examples of negative, column-shaped objects would be columns, tall curio cabinets and spiral staircases.

4. MAKE CHANGES OR ADDITIONS TO YOUR BEDROOM
The bedroom is you spend a great deal of your time, so it's an important room for your health. Reducing electromagnetic fields is one of the best things you can do for better health. Remove all electrical appliances from the bedroom if possible. If not, place them at least 8 feet from the bed. Things like electric blankets or waterbeds are the worst offenders, due to the proximity to your body.

Metal objects should also be removed from the bedroom since they conduct electricity. Don't sleep with your feet pointed out your bedroom door. This position is called the "pine box" or "coffin" position and should be avoided due to its negative connotation. Don't face a mirror while sleeping. If you can see in the mirror from your bed, this is like having another person-one who never sleeps-in the room with you.

Also, the water element of the mirror could cause ill health. Mirrors, if not easily moved, can be covered with material hung on a cord or rod. This would allow for use of the mirror when needed, but would keep it covered while you are sleeping. The bed should always be position against a solid wall. This is to symbolize support. If your bed is in front of a window, close the blinds or curtains to give that feeling of solid support.

5. PLACEMENT OF PARTICULAR OBJECTS
Place objects in certain areas of your home for good health and for energizing you and your family. The dragon is a good health symbol but do not place it in the bedroom. He has too much energy, and would make the bedroom restless rather than restive.

Potted plants or wind chimes around your home will disperse negative "chi," which is called "sha." The dragon-headed tortoise is a symbol of steadiness and longevity. If placed at the back of the house, he will symbolize support for you and your family.

Rabbits and tortoises are both symbols of improved health, luck and long life. They both should be placed in your health area. The type of material they are made of is important and depends on your "kua" number and your element. An example would be a kua number of three that means the element is wood. If your element is wood, you would place a wooden rabbit and a wooden tortoise in your health area. To find your kua number and element, search the internet or books on Feng Shui.

These five simple home Feng Shui tips for good health are just the beginning. If you are interested in Feng Shui, there are many helpful books on the subject. Some are specific to health, some give helpful charts and diagrams concerning the elements, kua numbers, etc. Others are filled with information on furniture arranging to achieve a perfect flow of "chi." Feng Shui is growing in popularity and may help you gain better health and happiness.

Empowering Questions to Ask Yourself

Our quality of life is determined in large part by the quality of the questions we ask ourselves. When we ask disempowering questions like "why did this happen to me?," we remain stuck, but when we ask empowering, life-enhancing questions, we open up possibilities for real growth and change.

  1. What can I learn from this?
  2. What can I do today to grow myself?
  3. What should I stop doing today?
  4. What kind of impact do I want to make today?
  5. What am I grateful for today?
  6. How will I measure success today?
  7. How do I choose to feel today?
